Medical & Industrial Parts Cleaning
In the past, many processes for cleaning printed circuit boards, components, metal parts and other items utilized halogen-hydrocarbons, particularly CFC's. Because of environmental concerns and regulations, many industrial cleaning applications are converting from these solvent-based methods to aqueous cleaning processes.

Miele offers the fully programmable model IR 6001 Industrial Washer. Designed specifically for industrial batch cleaning applications the IR6001 features multiple dispensing pumps (for detergent, neutralizer and additives such as saponfiers), low water consumption and a powerful forced air drying unit.

Depending upon the complexity of your application, Miele laboratory glassware washers can also be utilized for industrial cleaning. All Miele washers allow for purified hot water rinses, automatic detergent and neutralizer dispensers, powerful water circulation and a host of specialized inserts and baskets.

The Miele Advantage:  Main Menu

  Unsurpassed Cleaning
Quality cleaning is the result of the interaction of a number of elements: the mechanical action of water to provide a scrubbing effect: the detergent, which chemically attacks the contaminant; proper water temperature to aid the chemical and mechanical action; and finally, sufficient time for these elements to work to their full effect. Back to Menu   Unsurpassed Quality Cleaning
  Mechanical Action
Every Miele Cleaning System provides a consistently superior level of mechanical action. Our heavy-duty circulation pump operates at a rate of 106 gallons per minute, ensuring a vigorous wash, while using a mere 2.5 gallons of fresh water per cycle.

The unique design of the Miele spray arm maximizes cleaning effectiveness. The shape, size and position of its opening ensure that water and detergent contact all exposed surfaces in the wash chamber.

Furthermore, a low amplitude waveform is created by the spray arm's motion, causing increased mechanical action to loosen even the most stubborn contaminants. Back to Menu

  Detergents and Neutralizers
Miele has developed a wide range of detergents in collaboration with the German chemical company, Dr. Weigert. Each of these detergents has unique cleaning capabilities, allowing us to confidently address virtually any application.

The cleaning process is by nature, aggressive. Detergents are typically alkaline compounds with corrosive characteristics. In order to restore the proper pH balance and minimize damage to the item being cleaned, all Miele systems can dispense a neutralizing agent immediately following the wash cycle. This process alsoserves an important role in eliminating detergent residue from the items being washed.

To further ensure complete removal of detergent and neutralizer residue, most Miele Cleaning Systems allows for both ambient and heated deionized water rinses. Back to Menu

  Temperature and Time
Miele cleaning systems offer a variety of settings and programs for both temperature and time. These features allow for complete control in selecting the optimal combination of detergent, temperature and wash/rinse time - enabling you to obtain the optimal balance of cleaning effectiveness and maximum throughput. Back to Menu

  A Complete Solution
Consisting of a washer, baskets, inserts and specially formulated detergents, the Miele cleaning System is designed to give you repeatable, analytically clean results. Miele offers a variety of Cleaning Systems, covering a wide range of applications, for a variety of budgets. Back to Menu

  Detergents
No single detergent can adequately clean every contaminant from every type of item. For this reason, Miele offers a broad spectrum of liquid and powder cleaning agents, each formulated to provide the best results for the task at hand. Back to Menu

  Baskets and Inserts
The basket and insert set is an integral component of the Miele Critical Cleaning System.

Miele baskets and inserts meet virtually every cleaning need. Injector baskets spray arm wash and rinse water directly into narrow-necked items to thoroughly clean hard-to-reach areas. A range of special purpose inserts securely hold each object - preventing breakage and ensuring the proper position for optimal cleaning.

Miele baskets and inserts are, for the most part, interchangeable and can be used in any of our washers. To guarantee compatibility between the various baskets and inserts, and to obtain the best results for your particular application, contact your local Miele Representative, or call us at 1-800-843-7231 or e-mail your request by clicking here: Email

  Water Softener
It is common knowledge that soft water provides better cleaning than hard water. Soft water is also gentler on your washer. For this reason every Miele washer is equipped with a built-in water softener system. This eliminates scaling and enables your detergent to work at peak efficiency. The timing of Miele water softening system can be adjusted to compensate for the hardness of your incoming water supply. If incoming water is already soft, the system can simply be deactivated. Many brands of washers either do not offer a water softening system or provide it as an expensive option. Miele does not make this compromise. Back to Menu

304 / 316 Grade stainless steel wash chambers
Miele wash chambers are built to withstand the rigors of the workplace. The chamber seams are a weld-free, tri-fold construction which eliminates corrosion and prevents splits caused by repeated heating and cooling cycles. The chamber side walls and ceiling are constructed in 304 stainless steel. The chamber floor and door are constructed of high-grade 316 stainless steel for extra resistance to corrosion. Back to Menu

  Acid Rinse Dispenser
All Miele washers are equipped with large capacity liquid acid neutralizer dispensers. These dispensers automatically dose the proper amount of acid neutralizer during the interim rinse cycle. The acid rinse helps remove detergent residue and restores the proper pH balance to the items being washed. Some washer manufacturers do not provide this feature.

In addition, Miele offers two liquid neutralizing agents:   Neodisher N, a phosphoric acid solution, and Neodisher Z, a citric acid solution. Back to Menu

  Separate Drain & Circulation Pumps
The pump is a critical component of any washing system. Most manufacturers supply a single pump for both circulation and drainage. Miele does not make this compromise. Instead, Miele washers feature two separate pumps for these distinct functions. The benefits of this dual pump system are many. Two pumps halve the duty cycle and prolong overall pump life. Furthermore, separate pumps ensure that only fresh, clean water is used, eliminating possible cross-contamination when drain pump residue is reintroduced into subsequent wash and rinse cycles. Back to Menu

  Heater Elements
A washer's cycle time is dependent upon the time it takes for the incoming water to be heated up to wash or rinse temperature. Most under-the-counter type lab washers have heating elements that are rated from 1200-1500 Watts. Miele systems feature 6000W of heating power (at 220V) which provides fast heat-up of water and energy efficiency. Back to Menu

  Heated DI Rinse Cycles
Complete elimination of residue is best accomplished by one or more heated DI rinse cycles. Every Miele laboratory, medical and industrial washer features a DI water connection, as well as the ability to heat the DI water upon 93°C (except model G7704 which heats to 70°C). Deionized water becomes more aggressive when it is heated, providing better rinsing. Many glassware washer manufacturers provide DI rinsing capability, but very few provide the ability to heat the DI water to such temperatures.

Note: Due to the nature of dental applications, the model G7781 Dental Thermal Disinfector does not feature a DI rinse. Back to Menu

  High Volume Circulation Pumps
All Miele washers are equipped with a powerful circulation pump. Most models circulate wash and rinse water at 106 gallons per minute (model G 7736 circulates 156 gpm). This is accomplished while maintaining a discharge pressure of only 13 PSI. This system provides a high turnover rate of water which provides effective cleaning action in a shorter time period, while remaining gentle on your delicate glassware. Typically, other brands of under-counter models circulate at a less effective rate of 60 to 80 gallons per minute. Back to Menu

  Independent Testing
An independent test was conducted by Environmental Health Laboratories, (a division of MAS Technology Corporation) to investigate the cleaning effectiveness of the Miele laboratory glassware washer to clean sample containers for reuse in metal, volatile organic chemical, and semi-volatile organic chemical analysis. This test was performed using US EPA 200 series methods for metals, US EPA method 524.2 for volatile organic chemicals, and US EPA method 525.1 and 8270 for semi-volatile organic chemicals. The conclusion of this report reads as follows:
"This experiment successfully demonstrates that the Miele laboratory washing system can be used to clean sample containers, volumetric and laboratory glassware for reuse in metal, volatile organic chemical, and semi-volatile organic chemical analysis without the occurrence of cross-contamination."
