Miele Introduces New Ventilation Hood Technology and Designs

WiFiConn@ct Provides Mobile Control for Optimal Performance, Efficiency and Convenience

Princeton, NJ – Miele, the largest family-owned luxury appliance manufacturer is launching its latest WiFi technology in its ventilation hoods for greater and easier wireless control. Miele’s WiFiConn@ct allows users to conveniently connect their Miele appliances to the internet via a WiFi router and the Miele@mobile app. The many benefits include using your smartphone or tablet to: check an appliance status while home or away, receive alert notifications, or visit the Miele online shop to place orders.

This is a complement to Miele's Con@ctivity 2.0 feature that allows users to concentrate fully on cooking, leaving the rest up to its wireless technology. Con@ctivity 2.0 gathers information from the induction cooktop and transmits it to the ventilation hood, turning on the hood automatically when the cooktop turns on and operates at the optimum power setting based on your selected cooktop power level. To avoid unnecessary energy consumption, once the cooktop is turned off the ventilation hood will run for up to 15 minutes, depending on what is being cooked.

With the introduction of WiFiConn@ct, users will have the option of using either technology.

In addition to the new operational features, Miele is unveiling a new kitchen ceiling extractor. The specialized 43-inch built-in extractor integrates discreetly into any ceiling and ensures a pleasant climate.

“We’re excited to introduce our newest ceiling extractors with WiFiConn@ct and Con@ctivity 2.0 technology, giving greater options and convenience for kitchen ventilation,” said Kathrin Jahnke, Senior Product Manager at Miele. “As kitchen designs continue to evolve, we are continuing to provide appliances that not only integrate the latest technologies but are also on-trend, efficient and visually impactful.”

The extractors include a stainless-steel panel, which can be removed for ease of cleaning and 10-ply metal grease filters, which are dishwasher-safe for convenience. Miele ceiling extractors can be operated either vented or recirculated. Additional features include delayed shutdown, LED lighting with dimmer function, a max of 625 CFM, and an optional remote control purchased separately.

The ceiling extractor will be available at Miele retailers nationwide beginning in spring 2019 for $2,499, with additional updated hoods featuring WiFiConn@ct and Con@activity2.0 capabilities becoming available late summer 2019. Visit MieleUSA.com for more information.
