Additional Information
California Proposition 65
Purpose & Warning
The purpose is to ensure that people are well informed about possible exposure to these chemicals. California describes “Proposition 65 more as a ‘right to know’ law than a pure product safety law.”
This does not imply that our products will necessarily cause cancer or reproductive harm or are in violation of any product-safety standards or requirements. We do not consider our products harmful when used as intended. However, it is a necessary precaution to provide the warning because of this California law.
Miele provides these warnings based on the presence of one or more listed chemicals without trying to evaluate the level of exposure, as not all of the listed chemicals provide exposure limit requirements.
Being a distributor of some of our products, we also rely on the testing and information provided by our suppliers or manufacturers. Although the exposure may be negligible or well within the “no significant risk” that would not require Proposition 65 labeling, Miele has chosen to provide the Proposition 65 warnings out of an abundance of caution.
This warning can be given in several ways, such as by labeling a consumer product, posting signs at the workplace, distributing notices at a rental-housing complex, or publishing notices in a newspaper
Warning:
The following Warning is required by the State of California: For California Residents Only.
