Heating phase taking very long

The coffee machine heating phase takes a long time.

The appliance needs descaling.

Descale the appliance.

Set the water hardness a level higher.

The appliance door was opened during the heating phase.

If the appliance door is opened during the heating phase, e.g., to fill the water container with fresh water, the heating elements switch off during that time. This means that the appliance does not heat up further. The appliance only heats up when the door is closed.

Close the appliance door during the heating phase.
