Milk froth not hot or too runny

The milk froth is not hot enough or is too runny.

The milk in the milk flask is too hot.

Good milk froth can only be achieved when cold milk (below 50°F/10°C) is used.

Milk is not cooled in the milk flask. Therefore, place the milk flask in the refrigerator if you are not going to use milk for a while.

Cool the milk down to less than 50°F (10°C) in the refrigerator.

The central spout and the milk flask lid have not been cleaned or installed properly.

Clean and install the central spout and milk flask lid as described in the operating instructions for your coffee machine.

CVA 6xxx (grinder): The elbow connector in the milk pipework has not been replaced yet. The milk pipework is soiled.

An elbow connector for the milk pipework is included in the scope of delivery of the coffee machine as a spare part.

Replace the old elbow connector with the elbow connector supplied. Proceed as follows:

  • Open the appliance door.

  • Opening service flap | Back of appliance door | Built-in coffee machine
  • Open the service flap on the back of the appliance door.

  • Service flap open | Back of appliance door | Built-in coffee machine
  • First remove the air intake hose (1) from the opening (3). Then pull off the elbow connector (2).

  • Pull both hoses off the elbow connector.

  • Clean the air intake hose (1) under running water using the cleaning brush supplied. Blowing through the hose can also loosen any blockages.

  • Insert the cleaning brush into the milk pipework (4). Move the cleaning brush forward and backward as far as possible until all milk residue has been removed.

  • Now take the new elbow connector. (You can dispose of the used elbow connector in your household waste.)

  • Push the hoses onto the elbow connector and reinsert it. Make sure that the bar on the elbow connector is pointing downward. The hoses should sit tightly on the connecting pieces and form a seal.

  • Insert the air intake hose back into the opening (3).

  • Reinsert the service flap.

  • Close the appliance door.
