Dishwashing

Inlet/drain indicator light is flashing on and off

The Inlet/drain indicator light on the dishwasher is flashing on and off. There may be water in the wash cabinet. A fault occurred while the water was being supplied/drained.

The faucet is not open.

Turn on the faucet.

The inlet filter is soiled.

Clean the inlet filter:

Risk of electric shock from voltage.

The plastic housing of the water connection contains an electrical valve.

The housing must not be dipped in water.

Turn off the dishwasher.

Disconnect the dishwasher’s electrical plug.

Close the faucet.

Unscrew the water intake valve.

Remove the seal from the screw connection.

Using combination or needle-nose pliers, take hold of the plastic filter bar and remove the plastic filter.

Rinse the plastic filter under running water.

Re-insert the plastic filter and the seal into the screw connection of the water intake valve. Ensure that the plastic filter and the seal are seated correctly.

Screw the screw connection of the water intake valve securely onto the faucet.
Slowly open the faucet.
If water drips out, tighten the connection.

The plastic filter must be put back in place after cleaning.

The water inlet hose is kinked.

Remove any kinks or loops from the water inlet hose.

Monitor these points for a while afterward, as the plastic may weaken and the material may tear.

In the event of any damage, the water inlet hose must be replaced.

Contact Miele Service about this.

The flow pressure at the water connection is lower than 50 kPa (0.5 bar).

Contact the facility manager or a plumber.

There is soiling or a blockage in the filter combination or in the return valve.

Clean the filter combination as follows:

  • Turn off the dishwasher.

  • Turn the handle counterclockwise to release the filter combination (1).

  • Remove the filter combination (2).

  • Remove any coarse soiling.

  • Rinse the filter thoroughly under running water.

  • Use a soft cleaning brush to remove soiling.

  • Ensure that coarse particles do not get into the circulation system and cause a blockage there.

  • To clean the insides of the filter, the flap must be opened:

    • Press the recessed grips together in the direction of the arrows (1).

    • Open the filter flap (2).

  • Rinse all the parts under running water.

  • Then close the flap so that the catch engages.

  • Reinstall the filter combination so that it lies flat in the base of the wash chamber.

  • Then turn the handle clockwise until both arrows point toward each other. This will lock the filter combination in place.

The filter combination must be carefully inserted and locked.

Otherwise, coarse soiling could get into the circulation system and cause a blockage there.

A foreign object (such as a cherry pit or a small shard of glass) could be blocking the drain pump and the non-return valve.

Clean the drain pump and the non-return valve as follows:

  • Turn off the dishwasher.

  • Disconnect the electrical plug.

  • Remove the filter combination from the wash cabinet (see above).

  • Scoop the water out of the wash cabinet using a small container.

  • Press the catch for the non-return valve inward (1).

  • Pull the non-return valve up and out (2).

  • Rinse the non-return valve well under running water.

  • Remove any foreign objects from the non-return valve.

  • The drain pump is situated under the non-return valve (arrow).

  • Risk of injury from glass splinters.

It is especially difficult to see glass splinters in the drain pump.

  • Remove any foreign objects from the drain pump. Check the drain pump impeller by manually turning it. You will feel a little resistance when you turn the impeller.

  • Carefully reinstall the non-return valve.

Ensure that the catch engages correctly.

Damage due to incorrect cleaning.

The components are delicate and can be damaged during cleaning.

Take care when cleaning the drain pump.

The drain hose is kinked, blocked, or not moving freely.

Remove any kinks or loops from the drain hose.

Monitor these points for a while afterward, as the plastic may weaken and the material may tear.

In the event of any damage, the water inlet hose must be replaced.

Contact Miele Service about this.

Frequent use can result in deposits in the drain hose.

Check the drain hose for blockages. Try to remove the blockage.

Take care to ensure that the drain hose can move freely and is not too taut.

If the fault persists, please contact Miele Service or book a repair appointment online.

The Miele Waterproof system has reacted.

Turn off the faucet and disconnect the dishwasher from the power supply (the drain pump will not stop running until this is done).

You can remove the dishware from the dishwasher as normal.
