Condensation forming in PerfectFresh Pro/PerfectFresh Active compartments

Condensation is forming in the PerfectFresh Pro or PerfectFresh Active compartments.

Water droplets primarily form as a result of moisture condensing at the coldest points in the refrigerator: In the area around the PerfectFresh Pro or PerfectFresh Active compartments, the back of the compartments is the coldest point.

By maintaining a high level of humidity, the PerfectFresh Pro or PerfectFresh Active compartments cultivate the ideal storage conditions for fruit and vegetables. This enables fruit and vegetables to retain their own moisture levels and stay fresh for longer.

This high level of moisture may condense on the cold rear panels of the drawers.

The formation of water droplets can also depend on the following factors:

  • Type and quantity of food being stored in the compartments

  • Moisture setting in the PerfectFresh Pro or PerfectFresh Active compartments (low humidity = 1 droplet, increased humidity = 3 droplets)

  • humidifier setting for PerfectFresh Active

  • temperature setting

If you find that too much condensate has formed and this is affecting the food, proceed as follows:

  1. Wipe off any condensate with a cloth.

  2. Open the compartment cover by moving it to the low humidity position (= 1 droplet).

  3. In the case of PerfectFresh Active, switch off the humidifier.

If, some time later, you still find that too much condensate has formed and this is still affecting the food, other options are available:

  4. Place a rack or similar item in the compartment so that excess moisture can drain away.

  5. Increase the temperature in the PerfectFresh Pro or PerfectFresh Active zone in small steps until the results start to improve; see operating instructions.

  6. Also check that the compartment cover is still in the low humidity position (= 1 droplet).

If the drawer is too full, the compartment cover may unintentionally move into a different position while being pushed in, causing it to close.

  7. When filling the drawer, take care to ensure that the food does not touch the compartment cover.
