Auto or Spot cleaning mode was started from somewhere in the room.
Start the robot vacuum cleaner from the base station.
The robot vacuum cleaner cannot locate the base station.
Start the robot vacuum cleaner from the base station.
Ensure sufficient light is available. Ceilings with low lighting or very dark rooms cannot be easily detected by the ceiling camera, which can affect navigation.
Connect the base station correctly. To do so, proceed as follows:
Open the storage compartment on the base station.
Insert the power supply unit connector into the socket at the top of the storage compartment.
Connect the power cord to the power supply unit and the electrical plug to a power outlet. The contact indicator will then light up red on the base station.
RX1: Stow the power supply unit in the storage compartment in the base station and feed the power cord through the slot.
Place the base station on a level surface against a free wall. Ensure that there are obstacle-free clearances to the front, right, and left:
Minimum clearance to the front: 4' 11" (1.5 m)
Minimum clearance to the right and left: 1' 7" (0.5 m)
Switch the robot vacuum cleaner off. The switch is located on the side of the robot vacuum cleaner. Depending on the model, set the I/0 switch to switch position 0 or the ON/OFF switch to switch position OFF.
Place the robot vacuum cleaner upside down on a level, clean surface.
Clean the sensors carefully using a dry cotton swab (see right half of the image).
RX1: Also clean the sensors on the side of the robot vacuum cleaner (see left half of the image).
Make sure that no objects disrupt the signal.
Steer the robot vacuum cleaner manually or carry it back to the base station.
You can use your cell phone to ascertain for yourself whether the infrared transmitter is operational. This is only possible with cell phones that do not have an infrared filter in the camera.
To do this, hold your cell phone with the camera switched on in front of the infrared transmitter of the base station (see figure). You should be able to see the infrared transmitter flashing on the cell phone screen.
You can also use this procedure to visualize the infrared transmitter on the remote control:
Press and hold a button on the remote control.
At the same time, hold your cell phone in front of the remote control with the camera switched on (see figure).
If you do not see a flashing red LED on the screen of your phone, first check whether the camera on your cell phone has an infrared filter.
If your cell phone camera does not have an infrared filter and there is still no flashing red LED visible on the screen of your phone when you check the base station or the remote control, contact Miele Service.
Watch the robot vacuum cleaner during vacuuming.
Remove any obstructions.
Section off the problematic area with the magnetic strip or, depending on the model, by controlling it via a mobile device.
If necessary, reduce the robot vacuum cleaner’s crossing-over height from HI to LO:
RX2 and RX3: Briefly press the Climb button on the remote control.
RX1: Press the Base button on the remote control for at least 3 seconds.
LO will appear on the display.
If the fault persists, please contact Miele Service.
