Burner does not ignite during commissioning

The burner does not ignite when the gas cooktop is commissioned for the first time or after it has been out of use for a longer period.

The electrical plug of the cooktop is not plugged in.

Insert the electrical plug of the cooktop.

The relevant breaker in the building’s wiring system is not switched on.

Switch on the relevant breaker in the building’s wiring system.

The gas safety valve is still closed.

Open the gas safety valve.

There is air in the gas line.

Repeat the ignition process several times to get rid of any air in the gas line.

The burner parts have not been correctly assembled or are dirty.

Check that the burner parts have been correctly assembled, and that the burners are clean and dry.

Make sure that the flame openings are dry and free of obstructions. See the operating instructions for more detailed information.

Cooktops without electronic ignition: During ignition, please keep the knob pressed for approx. 8 seconds, applying a little extra pressure just before you release it.

Gas cooktops with a propane gas connection: The gas cylinder is empty.

Change the gas cylinder. New gas cylinders are available from any standard hardware store.

After changing the gas cylinder, check both the cylinder and the gas connections for leaks.
