Setting up a static IP address

Setting up a static IP address

A static IP address can be required in some networks.

In order to allocate a static IP address to the Miele gateway, a direct link is needed between the computer and Miele gateway via a LAN cable. Additionally, the DHCP function must be activated in the computer’s network settings.
After rebooting the Miele gateway (approx. 3 min), the computer receives an IP address from the Miele gateway. By calling up the IP address 192.168.5.5 (service IP address) in a browser, it is possible to set a static IP address.

To set a static IP address, complete the following steps:

  • Select Network.

  • Select Change settings.

  • Select Allocate static address.

  • Enter the network numbers in accordance with the IP address, subnet mask, and DNS server.

  • Select Save.

  • Select Log off at the top right in the gateway.

  • Disconnect the cable connection between the Miele gateway and the computer.

  • Connect the Miele gateway to the network (router, switch) and restart.
